Acuform - metalwork for racers

Acuform serves the motorsport community in a variety of ways, with fabrication and manufacturing of many custom parts, plus powder coating and a number of cutting edge technologies the company is currently developing.

If you have a motorsport project you'd like done properly, please get in touch with us.

Laser Cutting
Laser cutting is a modern technology employing a high intensity laser to cut sheet materials. The laser is computer controlled, ensuring that the cut is extremely accurate and repeatable. The area being cut vaporizes away, leaving an edge with a high-quality surface finish. Laser cutting yields a product that is extremely accurate and precise. We use the best equipment to ensure that your job meets the most exacting standards. Laser cutting can be used for extremely complex and simple shapes alike.

Precision Fabrication
We employ skilled tradesmen, who receive excellent training and have access to state-of-the-art equipment to fabricate products that meet your requirements and specification. We can employ any combination of the technique described on this page, including laser cutting, CNC folding, welding, machining and more, to produce the product you need.

MIG and TIG Welding
MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding both use an inert gas to shield the welding process from oxidation and other contamination. MIG uses a continuously feeding wire which serves as electrode and filler/weld material. TIG uses a tungsten electrode, with a separate filler/weld rod. Both methods yield strong, clean and precise welds. Generally MIG is the preferred method for welding thin sheet, and some machined products. TIG is widely used in the aerospace industry, and is often used for joining tubing, welding tools and where a corrosion resistant weld is required.

CNC Folding
CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) folding uses a high tech folding machine, linked to a computer controller. The machine receives precise instructions from the computer to position and fold sheet material to exact specifications. The technology ensures that folds are placed in exactly the right position, and that the angle of the fold is exactly as specified. CNC folding may be used for a large range of application where sheet materials need to be folded in complex or simple shapes.

Design and Development
Our staff have a wealth of experience and training in fabricating a huge range of different jobs. Coupled with intimate knowledge of our state-of-the-art equipment, this means that we are extremely well placed to assist you in designing the solution for your problem or application. We can help select materials, design, construction processes and then assist with future development. From the simplest to the most complicated application, we can design and develop the solution.

Powder Coating
Powder coating is a surface coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The coating is applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin". The polymer coating is used to create a hard finish that is significantly tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is normally used to coat metals, but may be suitable for other applications depending on the material.
